Sales Associate - Casual/Part-Time

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our unique team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for sales, a knack for engaging customers, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in driving sales through excellent customer service, product knowledge, and proactive engagement with shoppers. You will be responsible for greeting customers, understanding their needs, recommending products that meet their requirements, and closing sales. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the presentation of the sales floor, stocking merchandise, and participating in inventory management. Duties & Responsibilities

• Greets customers and makes them feel comfortable creating a great customer experience.

• Interacts with customers, offering assistance and responding to queries about products and purchases.

• Provides recommendations according to customer needs or preferences.

• Locates merchandise for customers and process sales transactions.

• Introduces promotions and new products to customers.

• Operates Square POS and handles credit card and debit processing.

• Handles exchanges.

• Documents sales by updating customer records.

• Stays up to date with sales trends for better service and achievement of sales.

• Alerts the management/owners of potential security issues.

• Maintain operational duties and checklist.

   

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma.

• Two years working in the service or retail industry preferred.

Required Skills

• Self-motivated.

• Friendly and strong commitment to customer service.

• Verbal and written communication skills.

• Interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lift merchandise weighing up to 20 pounds.

• Basic math and accounting skills. 

Preferred Skills

• Experience operating Square POS.

• Experience operating point-of-sale (POS) transactions.

• Record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
